M&Q Packaging Introduces 400-degree Cook-in Bag for Ribs:
YieldMaster™ Technology Improves Quality, Saves Time and Money
Schuylkill Haven, Pa. — Expanding on 50 years of technological leadership in plastics advancements for the commercial food industry, M&Q Packaging is introducing the first nylon cook-in bag for ribs that can support 400-degree foodservice and consumer cook-in bag processes. These proprietary YieldMaster™ cook-in bags allow processors to vacuum pack raw ribs and ship them ready to cook, as is, at 400 degrees in a conventional oven for around 55 minutes, producing tender, juicy meat. YieldMaster cook-in bags retain the same shelf life as traditional barrier bags, yet eliminate additional handling prior to consumer-ready marketing and reduce cooking time by up to three hours. All juice and fat stay in the YieldMaster bag until ready for caramelization on the grill, maximizing yield and eliminating any mess or cleanup for the consumer.
“With YieldMaster, processors can now eliminate costly steps in getting product to market,” says Curt Rubinstein, M&Q’s Marketing Director. “With or without added flavoring or seasoning, ribs now can be packed once at processing and distributed ready for consumers to cook safely at a high temperature of 400 degrees, whereas traditional barrier bags begin to melt at 190 degrees. The streamlined processing reduces costs, improves food-handling safety and maximizes yield.”
Beta-trials of the new ribs packaging have proven remarkably successful, according to [name?, company], who forecasts an early 2008 introduction of the new packaging for their ribs product. For more information about YieldMaster™, visit mqplastics.com or call 1.800.600.3068.
